The Long Winter
The Long Winter
Winter came early, and it did not stop. You are driving a cart north, away from a home that no longer exists, with a handful of people in your care. The road never lets you stop, and every mile demands payment.
Each leg of the journey you choose how to pay: from your dwindling supplies, from yourself (Body, Mind, and Hope), or from the people riding with you. Every choice costs something. Arriving unscathed isn't on the table, only what you're willing to spend to arrive at all.
A short (~5-10 min) turn-based game about complicity and the cost of progress. This is an early prototype and feedback is very welcome.
How to play: each leg, pick a choice. Some cost supplies, some cost you, some cost someone in your care. A run ends when you arrive, or when your Body, Mind, or Hope gives out. Choose "Set out again" to try a different path.
Content note: themes of loss, sacrifice, and hardship.
